This Boston accent I’m learning for Grey Gardens is fucking ridiculous. Fucking New England motherfuckers, with their Broad A sounds and their non-rhoticity. And their not being Southern or New York.
It’s like the love child of a basic New York dialect and a light Southern accent, with a peppering of RP, and I’ve studied ALL THREE OF THOSE DIALECTS so I keep wanting to fall into one of them.
Fucking fuck. Thank God for Wikipedia and the International Phonetic Alphabet.
